National Library Week will be observed April 10-16, 2011, with the theme, “Create your own story @ Salmon library®.” First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April. It is a time to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries and librarians and to promote library use and support.

To commemorate NLW, the Salmon library will showcase publications by UAHuntsville faculty/staff and students from April 10th-16th. There will also be an event scheduled on April 14th from 11 am – 1pm that will feature performances, games, food and opportunities to win door prizes from Sabghi Jewelers, UAHuntsville Bookstore and others. There will also be displays by Huntsville Fiber Guild and the Huntsville Gourd Patch. Please join UAH Library Faculty/Staff to celebrate National Library Week.

UAH Chargers Basketball Viewing Party March 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Library

Your UAH Chargers are in the NCAA Elite Eight! The games will be held in Springfield Massachusetts, but you can still show your Charger Pride from here in Huntsville!

The Salmon Library will be hosting a Viewing Party for the game against Minnesota St., Mankato on March 23, starting at 1pm. The game starts at 1:30, but come out a little early and meet with other Chargers fans on campus before the game starts!

The party will be in Room 111 in the Library, just take a left in the lobby as you come in. We will be showing the game on one of our large screens, along with live stats and maybe even live reports from the Athletics Department from Massachusetts.

Come out and join us on the 23rd, and Go Chargers!

Go Chargers!
