Welcome Back!

After a long holiday break, we’re all ready to get back and are really looking forward to a new semester full of events and changes!

Firstly, work has progressed much in preparing for our new coffee shop that should be open for business during the early part of the Spring ’08 semester.  Also, we are happy to welcome the CNS Help Desk to its new location within our building, which should hopefully make the library a one stop shop for a number of student needs.  Lastly, we are happy to welcome Super Teaching to the library as well.

Stick with us in the upcoming weeks for more updates on each of these!

E-Info Global Symposium 2007

On Thursday and Friday of next, the library will be hosting the E-Info Global Symposium. Speakers scheduled to present at the event have prepared presentations based on libraries and their relationship to different areas of technology. If you would like to learn more of the event, please visit its page at einfoglobal.uah.edu.

There’s also still time to sign up if you would like to register as a participant. We’re very excited to host this for the second consecutive year and look forward to meeting everyone there.

Reminder: Library Closed For Thanksgiving

Just a reminder to those who may be sticking around the UAH campus over the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, we will be closed from Thursday until Sunday. That’s the 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th. We will re-open on Monday the 26th. Once December starts, our hours vary slightly due to final exams and the Holiday season, so be sure to check our hours page for more details.

If you plan on traveling to see family or friends this week, please be careful and safe!

Also, if you would like to visit a mobile version of our site on other mobile devices, we have another version available at lib.uah.edu/mobile.

Live chat help/Off Line 7-25-08

We’re starting an experimental new service that will let anybody chat live with a librarian online. The e-mail service isn’t going away, and chat will provide a quicker response when someone is there to reply. We’re starting out with limited hours – roughly 2pm-5pm (central time) most weekdays for now. We may expand to more hours later, or make other changes to the service.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated!

Live Chat is not operational at this time.
