The popular search engine, AltaVista, offers a service that
provides free translations from English into French, German,
Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish, as well as from those
languages into English. Instructions are provided via B
& R Samizdat Express which also has a link to Babelfish.

The directory is provided on the web site of the American
Translators Association. It is a searchable database of
nearly 3,000 translators (who work with written materials)
and interpreters (who deal with spoken communication)
covering 125 language combinations and fields of subject
specialization. It may be searched by the name of the
translator/interpreter, language, and other criteria.
