Finding the Poem
• Library Catalog
To find a particular poem in the catalog, do an Author search to see if the library has a collection of poems by that author.
• Granger’s Index to Poetry (R PN 1022 .G7 1994)
• LitFinder
This online database offers searches in over 8,000 sources by author, title, first and last lines, and subjects. The poetry is international and ranges from antiquity to the modern period.
Sources of Criticism
An individual poem may not be a subject of an entire book or article. In these cases, it would be better to search for a criticism of the poet’s work in general.
Books
• Library Catalog
To find books with criticism on a particular poem in this library, search the catalog using a Words or Phrase or Subject search. Terms to put in the search boxes include: the poets name and criticism. To find bibliographies on the poet, use his name and bibliography as your search terms.
