UAH Chargers Basketball Viewing Party March 23 at 1:00 p.m. at Library

Your UAH Chargers are in the NCAA Elite Eight! The games will be held in Springfield Massachusetts, but you can still show your Charger Pride from here in Huntsville!

The Salmon Library will be hosting a Viewing Party for the game against Minnesota St., Mankato on March 23, starting at 1pm. The game starts at 1:30, but come out a little early and meet with other Chargers fans on campus before the game starts!

The party will be in Room 111 in the Library, just take a left in the lobby as you come in. We will be showing the game on one of our large screens, along with live stats and maybe even live reports from the Athletics Department from Massachusetts.

Come out and join us on the 23rd, and Go Chargers!

Go Chargers!

Parking may be congested during this time. We ask that all students and faculty that normally use the parking area in front of the library to please be aware of this and be sure to arrive early in case you need to spend a few extra minutes looking for parking. Thank you for your understanding!

Celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8 @ the library

March 8 is International Women’s Day and the theme for 2011 is equal access to education, training and science and technology: pathway to decent work for women.

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the economic, political, and social achievements of women past, present, and future. In some places like China, Russia, Vietnam, and Bulgaria, International Women’s Day is a national holiday.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, the library will have displays set up on the first floor near the InfoArcade. The Coffeehouse Writers Series will be gathering at 7 p.m. in the library art gallery. The local writing group that will be reading their work is BWFFs: Susan Gorrell, Erin Reid, Susan Phelan, Kathie Butler, Marylyn Coffey, Heather Kilgore, Betty Clemens, Sandra Shattuck, and Bee Barbara.
